The jackalope, also called an anteabbit, horny bunny, aunt benny, or stagbunny, is a fictional cross between a jackrabbit and an antelope (hence the name), goat, or deer, and is usually portrayed as a rabbit with antlers.
It is generally believed that the legend of the jackalope was inspired by sightings of rabbits infected with the Shope papillomavirus, a common but temporary fibromatosis which causes the growth of horn- and antler-like tumors in various places on a rabbit's head and body.
The jackalope was used in an episode of Pinky and the Brain as a key part of one of Brain's plots.
