The primary purpose of the Community Development Office is to assist Warwick based non-profit organizations with meeting the needs of the City's low-moderate income individuals and to help revitalize low-moderate income eligible neighborhoods through the use of CDBG funds.
Community Development Block Grant Program - Historically, applications are solicited in anticipation of the annual grant, public hearings are held by an Advisory commission to interview applicants and ultimately the grant money is distributed / awarded.

 West Virginia Development Office - Community Matters - Community Assistance - Small Cities Block Grant Program
Activities designed to meet community development needs having a particular urgency because existing conditions pose a serious and immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community and where other financial resources are not available to meet such needs.
Economic development projects that include a job creation agreement signed an expanding or new company may be eligible for up to $1,250,000 for publicly owned utility improvements or facilities.
Mutual written agreement between the West Virginia Development Office and the grantee is required to extend a grant period for more than the initial grant period of three years.
