The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is a training program of the United States armed forces present on college campuses to recruit and educate commissioned officers.
ROTC produces 60 percent of all officers in the U.S. armed forces, and 75 percent of U.S. Army officers.
The Corps of Cadets at Texas AandM University also boast the largest enrollment of cadets outside of the Service Academies, largely because of the university's history as a military college.

Young Sam Alito joined the ROTC in 1970, the same year that Princeton trustees voted to end undergraduate military training at the university for a variety of reasons.
He similarly voted in dissent to keep a jury from hearing whether a police supervisor unlawfully allowed his officers to handcuff, hold at gunpoint and search a woman and her teenage children who, by happenstance, walked up to visit the home of a family member in the midst of a raid.
Horn (2004), Judge Alito evaded recent Supreme Court precedent to hold that a death row inmate’s attorneys were not constitutionally ineffective, even though they failed to investigate key files containing important evidence about the abuse and deprivation their client suffered as a child, which may have persuaded a jury not to impose the death sentence.
