		The Official Journal of the European Union is the gazette of record for the European Union.
		The Official Journal superceded the earlier Official Journal of the European Coal and Steel community which was published from 30 December 1952.
		This was renamed Official Journal of the European Community with the establishment of the European Community before taking its current title with the creation of European Union.

	European Forum of Official Gazettes
		The Forum shall comprise the official gazettes of the Member States of the European Union and the Official Journal of the European Union, which have specifically agreed to create this Forum.
		At least one meeting of the Forum shall be held annually, at which each official gazette shall be represented by the person responsible or his or her delegate, without prejudice to the fact that other organisations with the status of observers, experts or speakers on specific subjects may be invited.
		Given its institutional position, the Official Journal of the European Union will act as secretariat for the Forum and be responsible for archiving documents and the Forum's website; at the request of the Chair, it distributes invitations to meetings, proceedings, minutes and other documents.
