Offutt Air Force Base (Offutt AFB) is a base of the United States Air Force and a census-designated place (CDP) located in Sarpy County, Nebraska.
It is home to the headquarters of both the United States Strategic Command and the U.S. Air Force Weather Agency.
On September 11, 2001 President George W. Bush flew to Offutt Air Force Base to confer briefly with the National Security Council before continuing on to Washington.

As a former US serviceman who worked at an Air Force unit in the old Martin bomber plant building at Offutt for many years, I can state that "Building D" is in fact the (now converted) factory.
The base gymnasium is close by, and is also an older building, so it may be associated, but is much smaller.
Building D houses several USAF units, including Air Force Global Weather Central, the 55th Strategic Reconaissance Wing, and the base motor pool.

This is the same Air Force base Chimpster ended up at as he was making haste to get his ass "out of harm's way." Only documentation the poster offers is a link to an article at San Francisco Business Times which has a story on Ann Tatlock, Chariman and CEO of Fiduciary Trust Co. Internationa.
What would be nice is to be able to confirm just who these other execs were that were at the Air Force Base and how many of them would normally be in their offices at the WTC were it not for this unusual "charity" event.

In 1920, the 260 acre flying field was built and in 1924 was named Offutt Field, in memory of Omaha's first casualty in World War I, Lt. Jarvis J. Offutt, who was killed in France while flying with the Royal Air Force.
