Oi - Encyclopedia, History, Geography and Biography
It is not to be confused with the Yiddish exclamation of dismay or exasperation "oy" or "oy vey".
The phrase "Oi" popularized in the punk and ska world by bands like the Cockney Rejects, was derived from the Greek phrase hoi polloi meaning "the people" in a derogatory way.
In Dutch, the word "Oi" is short for "Hoi", a greeting with the same meaning as "Hi" in English.

 Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation: Fast Facts
A positive type I collagen study confirms the diagnosis of OI, but a negative result leaves open the possibility that either a collagen type 1 mutation is present but was not detected or the patient has a form of the disorder that is not associated with collagen type 1 mutations.
The characteristic features of OI vary greatly from person to person, even among people with the same type of OI, and even within the same family, and not all characteristics are evident in each case.
Because the defect — whether inherited or due to a spontaneous mutation — is usually dominant, a person with OI has a 50 percent chance of passing on the disorder to each of his or her children.

 Oi
It began in the latter part of 1977, fusing the styles of early punk bands such as the Clash and the Ramones with early British rock like the Rolling Stones and The Who, and was seen as promoting unity between punks and skinheads.
The band's early material is usually considered classic Oi!, but by the mid-1980s Skrewdriver was leading a small neo-Nazi rock scene, although apart from lead singer Ian Stuart Donaldson[?], the band had a different line up from that of the late 1970s.
Their music was recognizably Oi!, but they sought to distance themselves from punk in general, preferring the term "R.A.C." ("Rock Against Communism").

OI is a rare disorder best diagnosed by a physician who has examined the child, considered the medical history, family history and social history, reviewed x-rays and laboratory testing.
When a test is negative it means either that the child does not have a form of OI that results from mutations in the genes of type I collagen or that the type of mutation, or its effects on proteins, are not identified by that particular test.

The Osteogenesis Imperfecta Clinic at Kennedy Krieger Institute
OI originates from a mutation in one of the two genes responsible for making Type 1 collagen, the protein of connective tissue, cartilage and bone.
Because of the extreme variability of the disorder - OI is classified into four types based on symptoms and etiology (gene mutation versus heredity) - its severity varies widely from case to case.
As OI awareness increases among the public and greater support is provided for research into the disorder, the future of individuals with OI will grow brighter.

Osteogenesis Imperfecta - Children's Hospital Boston
Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), also known as brittle-bone disease, is a genetic (inherited) disorder characterized by bones that break easily without a specific cause.
The cause of osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is believed to be due to a genetic defect that causes imperfectly-formed, or an inadequate amount of, bone collagen - a protein found in the connective tissue.
Although symptoms may vary, generally they are used to classify the four forms of OI, each of which represents varying grades of severity of the condition.

The new SST estimate is formed by a weighted sum of increments, with the weights calculated by the OI method, added to the first guess data.
