Whilst Oichi was still a young girl living in Owari she was married to Shibata Katsuie after the latter lost to Oichi's brother, Nobunaga, in an attempted coup.
Oichi did send her daughters into the care of Hideyoshi (one of them, Yodo Dono, eventually ended up married to Hideyoshi), but she herself remained with Katsuie and perished with him when his castle was engulfed in flames.
Oichi was depicted by the actress Tanaka Misato in the 2002 NHK historical Drama "Toshiie to Matsu" (利家とまつ).

The future Yodogimi, one of Oichi's daughters, would add another element of tragedy to this tale and another daughter would marry Hidetada Tokugawa, the second shogun, and with him produce the third shogun, Iemitsu.
Oichi doesn't look that young, but she does look like within th 13-19 age radius.

The only other character as weak as Oichi is Hanzo, but the factor that puts him on top is his high agility and just overall bitchin sweetness.
And I think the only reason Mash finds Oichi to be his favorite is because he found that picture of her that is in his profile.
Oichi is my "favorite" because shes an underdog and everyone "attacked" her as the weakest of the charecters to start out with.

The films were released in gluts within a short period of time until the public got bored of them, the various episodes within the serial format pretty much interchangeable.
The film under review here being the first of the series, a good part of the running time is given over to flashbacks establishing the character and background of the kimono-clad avenging angel.
The Blind Oichi series, released in the West under the Crimson Bat monicker ran for another three films until Matsuyama hung up her blade to raise a family, the other films in the series being Trapped!

Basically have nobunaga and oyuki head ahead of oichi and don't break down the fence that you run into it will save you a lot of punishment.
