  Oikoumene Dyson
Oikoumene Dyson predates the emergence of the sephirotic empires.
Communion Empai mediators, the Oikoumene intelligence was encouraged to adopt a more progressive sentient rights policy to eir charges, and a number of transapientech "skypalaces" were set aside, both for habitat dwellers who had progressed past the limits of their environment, and for visitors from the rest of the civilized galaxy.
For the rest of the galaxy, it remains one of the wonders of the universe, and the first of the great habitable dyson swarms that were to enable such vast population and living space in the terragen sphere.

Oikoumene, from the Greek Οικουμένη, which is the present participle of the verb Οικώ, meaning to inhabit.
Oikoumene usually refers to the part of the Earth that is inhabited, by all men or by only a subset of men.
In the new testament Oikoumene is used to refer to the future kingdom of Christ (the world to come), as in Hebrews 2.5: For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

 Religion, Transition and Oikoumene
Looking at the Axial Age and then its mideonic oikoumenes thence generated, we have the most obvious picture all at once of the ‘evolution of religion’, in one cycle of the eonic effect.
And there could hardly be a more gripping portrait of the ‘eonic evolutionary’ process than this timing of two major religions (relative transforms, we should note, of material latent in their areas, the stream entering the sequence).
We are so preoccupied with the metaphysics of religion that we forget the more obvious feature of their overall effect, which is to assist the evolution of the whole sourcing in the part, with especial attention to the development of man’s consciousness, ethical or otherwise.

But 'oikoumene' brings with it a deepening of the 'ecumenical'; going one stage further from denominational cooperation and moving deeper.
Oikoumene calls for a new vision; seeking new frontiers where our ministry can be expressed and recognized by the wider community.
The secret for the pursuit of oikoumene could be to have as little structure as possible.

The Greek term oikoumene from which comes the word ecumenism and which refers to the inhabited world, is found many more times in the Bible than the word mission.
The oikoumene is the place where we live, is the household of all, is the place where we can live together with a minimum of wellbeing.
The Psalmist says: "The earth (oikoumene) is the Lord's and all that is in it, the world and those who live in it".

The meridian passes through the middle of the main body of Norway, the western part, and it cuts the Norwegian coast where it turns sharply east, marking the limit of what is the substantial part of Norway.
I have explained that originally the Oikoumene extended from the Equator to 31°30’N, and that later this extension was duplicated.
Since the Oikoumene extends 6 units of 7°12’ to the west of Egypt (60° for Ptolemy), the meridian passing through the extreme limit of the Norwegian coast, the source of the Danube at Donauschingen, and the point where the equatorial Nile joins the Atlantic Ocean, is at the middle point

 HEBREWS SUPPLEMENT ON CHAPTER 2:5,9
But there is not complete agreement among commentators as to the meaning of "the world to come" (ten oikoumen ten mellousan, the coming inhabited earth, 2:5), which is not the same expression in Greek as "the world to come" in 6:5 (mellontos aionos, a coming age).
In 6:5 the expression occurs again, but instead of oikoumene (the inhabited earth) aion (age) is used.
Robert Milligan, Epistle to the Hebrews: " The world to come (he oikoumene he mellousa) means, not the coming age (ho aion ho mellon) as in Matt.12:39, etc., but the habitable world under the reign and government of the Messiah (ch.1:6).

Given the importance of the parts of the oikoumene bordering the territories controlled by this rival, one might have expected a very extensive and detailed treatment.
From Strabo's methodological remarks in books 1-2 and from his descriptions of other parts of the oikoumene in books 3-17 one can learn that he held clear opinions on the main themes and the central focus of cultural geography as opposed to physical or mathematical geography.
He is mainly concerned with the oikoumene as it was shaped by the common civilizing efforts of generations of people who inhabited certain regions.

 The Mapping of the Earth
Our division of the world into continents derives from the practice of dividing the Oikoumene into a part east of Egypt, or Asia, and a part west of Egypt, which was further divided into two parts by the Mediterranean, the part north of the Mediterranean being Europe and the part south of it being Africa.
According to this conception the Oikoumene was not divided into nine segments of 10 degrees each as in the Babylonian system, but into 12½ units of 7°12’ each.
The southern limit was the Equator and the northern limit was parallel 63°06'N, obtained by doubling the original extension of the Oikoumene from the Equator to parallel 31°30'N, the latitude of Behdet in Egypt and the northern limit of the Oikoumene in the sky.

Indeed, paradise is the awaited state of the “oikoumene”, when the whole of humanity becomes the fellowship of God’s kingdom.
Difference between ‘oikoumene’ and paradise is not geographical, for paradise is the place where man stands and dwells in God’s presence.
The ‘oikoumene’ without God’s presence is a place of enmities, as the history of mankind proves to be.

Thus, not only can there be peoples living outside the oikoumene, but the oikoumene itself can be extended--a merit attributed to Alexander and, most of all, to the Roman empire.
This in turn springs from a slightly changed concept of barbarism: while the barbarians' inferior way of life is determined by conditions of their environment--conditions that they cannot escape--, education according to Strabo can bring former barbarians to (almost) the same cultural level as the Greeks.
Returning to the discussion of oikoumene in Strabo, she stressses the affirmative attitude of Strabo towards an empire that expands the boundaries of the civilized world; only where further expansion would simply not be worthwhile, Rome chooses to leave her barbarian neighbours alone.

Leithart.com | The Oikoumene in the NT
Jim Jordan has pointed out that the Greek word "oikoumene" is used in the NT to refer to the Hellenistic and Helleno-Roman world, rather than to the entire inhabited earth.
It could be translated as "empire." Against this background, the usage in Heb 2:5 is very striking, since it talks about the "coming oikoumene" being subjected to Jesus.
The world-empire that follows the Hellenistic oikoumene, Christendom or the church, is the one subjected to Jesus.
