  Ecumenical deceit of the Pope
Oikumene is not the congregation, but the world, according to the Bible.
Oikumene from which the word ecumenism comes means the world and not oneness of the believers or unity of the believers, and the Bible teaches of the oneness of the believers, that the believers would be one just as the Father and the Son are one.
Ecumenism and oikumene is the world and the spirit of the world is under the leadership of Satan, and Satan tries to mislead God's people to think that ecumenism is what Jesus spoke of in John 17.

There were two notions of the Earth during this period, the earth known as 'ge' and the inhabited Earth known as the 'oikumene'.
The earliest conception of the Earth entertained by the Greeks was the notion that the Earth was a flat disk covered by an inverted bowl in the sky.
It is through mathematical equations and the positions of certain celestial bodies, namely the sun, that later philosophical geographers, such as Aristotle (384-322 BC), determined the spherical of the Earth.

Demon Princes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The novels take place in the Oikumene, which is a loose confederation of the civilized planets of the galaxy.
The Oikumene shares some conceptual features with the Gaean Reach, which is his name for the civilized worlds in many of his other science fiction novels, and in the fictional timeline of Vance's work may be a precursor to the Reach.
It does not muddy the waters with inconvenient relativistic effects; a traveller journeying from one end of the Oikumene to the other could synchronise watches with one who remained planet-bound meanwhile, and at the end of his journey the two watches would still be in agreement; there is no twin paradox to be considered.

All Empires History Forum: The civilization "implosion" phenomenon
A "barbarian" hardy people at the fringes of the oikumene, propelled by population growth and the promise of riches in the oikumene, succesfully invades the area and rapidly creates an empire, sometimes a very large one.
The areas that had been within the oikumene before the conquest, kept their language, whether it be Greek in Asia Minor, Greece and parts of the Levant, or Semitic languages such as Syriac, Coptic or Aramaic.
In both cases, it was more a matter of the oikumene extending its periphery because of the need for raw resources and for new areas for colonists in an over-populated core.

 NCC calls for ecumenical films
But leaders of the Faith and Order Commission of the National Council of Churches USA hope that perception will change when it holds its first ever Oikumene Film Festival to promote further exploration of visual media as a form of ecumenical expression.
The name, "Oikumene," was selected because of its historic connection to the ecumenical movement.
It is a Greek word meaning, "the whole inhabited earth" that was used to describe ancient Christian councils and gave rise in the late sixteenth century to the English word "ecumenical" to refer to the worldwide Christian Church.

 Theology Today - Vol 30, No. 2 - July 1973 - ARTICLE - God and Creation: a Biblical-Scientific Reflection
EFFORTS to restore the unity of the Christian oikumene are based in part on the more or less explicit conviction that Christians of various denominations are at one in professing the tenets comprising the Apostles' Creed.
The aim of the address concerns the modem ecumenical perspective of Paul's teaching on man's ability and duty to recognize the existence of a personal God who is the Creator of a universe embodying physical as well as moral orderliness.
What really matters is that their good intentions will not appease the secular oikumene which pushes with great determination for a restructuring of life, individual and social, along purely naturalistic lines.

 Test Area: Aristotle
Geographically speaking, Aristotle is probably best known for "Meteorolgica", in which the conception of the "oikumene", or zones of habitable world, through the orderly arrangement and distribution of flora and fauna is observed in the natural world.
He improved on Aristotle's "oikumene", the zones of habitation, by conceiving actual lines of latitude dividing these zones.
While Aristotle conceived that the torrid zone was at the equator, Posidinus determined that it was, indeed, the zone immediately north and south of the equatorial zone--the subtropics, where more inhospitable conditions existed.
