 Ojibways of the Pic River First Nation - Indian and Northern Affairs Canada
Pic River First Nation first became involved in small hydro development when Chief Roy Michano was invited to sit on a review committee for a proposed hydro development located on Black River, five kilometres east of the First Nation.
The First Nation is currently leading the development of a 20.6 megawatt development on the White River, 15 kilometres to the east of Pic River at Umbata Falls.
Initially, Pic River had 50 percent ownership in the venture; however, due to financial limitations, the First Nation was not able to maintain its equity position.

Written objections based on the effect of the work on marine navigation should be directed, not later than one month from the date of publication of this notice, to the Regional Director, Canadian Coast Guard, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, 201 Front Street N, Suite 703, Sarnia, Ontario N7T 8B1.
The RSTs would be in-river from mid-April to mid-June of each year.
