District Okara is bounded on the East by Kasur district, Sahiwal and Pakpattan districts on the West, Sheikhupura and Faisalabad districts on the North and Bahawalnagar district on the South.
The district Okara has a total area of 4,377 square kilometres and comprises of three tehsils
May and June are the hottest months with maximum temperature reaching 44ºC. January is the coldest month with minimum temperature falling to 2ºC. The average annual rainfall is 200 mm.

In July, 1982, Okara became District consisting of two Tehsils, Depalpur, Baseerpur, Satghara, Gogera, Sherghar, Hujra, Shah Muqeem and Renala Khurd are towns of this city.
There is a railway station in Renala Khurd which is called Renala Railway Station.Renala is very lucky that it has its own Railway station.There are 8 railway gates in district Okara and three railway gates are in Renala Tehsil.
Okara became Tehsil.It was established Committee in 1939 and Municipal Committee in 1945.After the creation of Pakistan, Okara played a vital role for the progress of the country.
