Singer-composer Ritsuko Okazaki died on May 5th from sepsis shock, which results from a bloodstream infection.
Okazaki was responsible for writing theme songs for many anime shows including "Love Hina," "Fruits Basket," and "UFO Princess Walkure," as well as songs for such famed voice actresses as Megumi Hayashibara, Yui Horie, and Kikuko Inoue.
Her new album was slated for June 23 release.

Composer and singer Okazaki Ritsuko, best known for her work on Fruits Basket, died last Wednesday from a blood infection.
Okazaki contributed music for Love Hina, Princess Tutu, Stratos 4, Kareshi Kanojo no Jijo (His & Her Circumstances), and UFO Princess Valkyrie, as well as writing music and penning lyrics for artists such as Hayashibara Megumi and Horie Yui.
Being one of my favorite artists in the world of anime music, her death comes as quite a shock.

Ritsuko Okazaki was born in Nagasaki, Japan, on 29 December 1959.
On May 5 2004, at the age of 44, Ritsuko Okazaki died suddenly and unexpectedly from septic shock, caused by blood poisoning.

Four Seasons is a disc compiled in memory of the singer Ritsuko Okazaki, who sang the OP and ED for the Fruits Basket as well as Princess Tutu.
This album is lovely and very relaxing, but it is very short, and if you already own Fruits Basket: Memory of You, owning this may seem redundant, but the orchestration on the instrumental tracks is impeccable and the vocal tracks all sound remastered to perfection.
