Olagunsoye Oyinlola's mother died in 1959 when he was barely eight years old while his father died a year later.
Olagunsoye Oyinlola, out of love for the military profession, enlisted in the Nigerian Army in 1969 as a private Soldier and was posted to the Signals Corps, then headed by Late General Murtala Ramat Mohammed.
Olagunsoye, in consideration of the fact that knowledge is power, also attended the University of Ibadan where he added the Masters Degree in Strategic studies to his academic achievements in 1999.

OVERNOR Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun State on Wednesday met with the warring leaders of Ora-Igbomina, a town in Ifedayo Council of the state where violence broke out last weekend.
Olayemi reportedly accused the state governor of not deeming it fit to visit the troubled area after 72 hours that his people were allegedly attacked by people suspected to be in support of the other faction.
He was said to have told Oyinlola that the people from Akesin lineage did not lose "a pin" because it was "a premeditated attack against my people".

According to him, since assuming office, Oyinlola had made spirited attempts to malign him beginning with the allegation accusing his administration of stealing funds appropriated for two borehole water rigs which, although imported into the state, were later returned when found defective.
He accused Oyinlola of crying wolf where none existed by renovating his current governor's lodge at a whopping N800m, while at the same time accusing him of spending less than N900m to build the Ige House, already roofed and plastered before the end of his tenure.
The party said the allegation of financial misappropriation made by Oyinlola against Akande "is intended to tarnish the good image of the former governor of the same state and the current chairman of the Alliance for Democracy (AD)".

Oyinlola said the recent increase in the number of the Nigerian Police could only become meaningful if they were properly equipped by the Federal Government to tackle the increasing crime waves in the nation.

If Oyinlola cannot tar roads in Lagos, the richest state in the country when the exchange rate was $1 = N81, what make him think he can construct roads in Osun state now that the exchange rate is N130.
The fact that Oyinlola was not charged to the Oputa panel did not absolve him of the responsibility as the then Lagos State Chief Security Officer.
It may interest you to know that a very large faction of PDP supporters are not in support of the emergence of Oyinlola as party flagbearer which we all know and believe is being stage-managed by greedy party leaders in the state.

Addressing workers in the state in commoration of this year's Workers Day celebration held at Osogbo Sports Stadium, Prince Oyinlola stated that, this was aimed at creating employment and alleviating poverty in the state.
