I moved from Sydney to Brisbane and for the next nine years, when Parliament was meeting in Canberra, I would board the plane on Tuesday morning and fly to Canberra with the Queensland-based MHRs, Senators, Ministers and staff, and then return on the Friday morning, staying at Brassey House in Canberra.
After staying in Melbourne during the remainder of 1974 I moved permanently to Canberra in 1975 and returned to the mainstream of the Public Service in the Department of the Special Minister of State in East Block.
I was Senator Harradine's secretary, based in Parliament House, for sixteen years from 1975 until 1992 and transferred with him from Old Parliament House to the new building in 1988.
