The Olenyok River (Оленёк, sometimes spelled Olenek) is a major river in northern Siberian Russia.
The river's source is on the northern Central Siberian Plateau, from where it flows north east through Olenyok before emptying into the Laptev Sea at Ust-Olenyok just west of the Lena River delta.
The Olenyok is known for its abundant fish.

The SPM of the Olenyok River partly draining the Siberian flood basalts can be distinguished from both major (high Ca and Mg concentrations and low Na and K concentrations) and trace elements (high Ni concentrations).
The Sula river runs to the east, and lies approximately 120 km inland from the Barents Sea coast.At the base of one of the sections is a silty clay, practically without micro- or macro fossils.
