Napier was born in 1610 in Scotland, "one of the many children" of Robert Napier, son of the most famous of all the Napiers, John of Merchiston, "the celebrated inventor of the logarithms," of "John of Logs," for short.
Napier sold this land on 1 January 1717 to Nicholas Cox of Charles City County and we see the unique signature (copied by the clerk) RNapier for the first time (the R and N joined by one stroke of the pen), differentiating it from the signature of his son of the same name.
Napier is seem to be the real progenitor of the family in Virginia, since he was the only male child of his parents, and had a much larger progeny than his father.

Sir Oliver Napier (born July 11, 1935) was the first leader of the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland.
In 1979 he came closer to winning a seat in the Westminster Parliament than any other Alliance candidate in history when he was less than a thousand votes behind Peter Robinson's winning total in Belfast East in a tight three-way marginal.
When Napier stepped down as leader in 1984 he received many plaudits for his work.

My Pioneering Sutton Family starts with Oliver Sutton, whom with his wife Sarah, sailed to Adelaide, South Australia (SA), we think in the 1840's.
Oliver could well have been a business associate/acquaintance of Sir James Macandrew, and also involved in the big cattle droves/musters of South Australia.
I am yet to find out where he is buried, more than likely the Southern Cemetery in Dunedin, however, I have not been able to find any cemetery records relating to his burial.
