 The Transaction Guy: Reds Archives
Cincinnati Reds purchase OF Jacob Cruz and SS Rich Aurilia, place RHP Josh Hancock (groin), RHP Luke Hudson (shoulder), and IF Anderson Machado (knee) on the DL, and place LHP Jung Bong (shoulder surgery) and IF Ray Olmedo (Tommy John surgery) on the 60-day DL.
“I don’t think Machado has ever played professional ball in the outfield, and Olmedo … maybe,” Narron said.
Apparently Machado and fellow utility infielder Rey Olmedo are the new outfield backups for the Reds.
