From 1988-2003, 272 men's and women's non-revenue or Olympic sports programs have been eliminated at NCAA member institutions, including nearly 21 percent of all women's gymnastics and nearly 30 percent of all men's wrestling teams.

"Olympic College, which serves a region of over 200,000 people on the Olympic Peninsula near Seattle, was subsequently identified as a most desirable partner in the process." The Washington state arrangement will be similar to Old Dominion's TELETECHNET agreement at Virginia's community colleges.
Olympic College will provide freshman- and sophomore-level courses, which will be followed by Old Dominion junior and senior courses delivered live via satellite from the Norfolk campus.
