		By tradition, the Olympic flame is delivered to the officials of the host city in a ceremony taking place in the Athenian Panathinaiko Stadium for the start of the relay by Athens city's authorities.
		The Olympic Flame burned at the Winter Olympics in 1936 and 1948, but the first torch relay occurred at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo.
		The flame was not ignited in Olympia, but a fire was lit in Morgedal, Norway, in the fireplace of the home of Sondre Norheim, who pioneered the sport of skiing.
