Omaha Benson High School is located at 5120 Maple Street in Omaha, Nebraska, in the heart of the historic Benson, Nebraska community.
Benson High is rich in history and tradition being one of the oldest high schools in the state.
A renovation of the total school that was completed in the mid-1990's provided a new science classroom wing, a state-of-the-art auditorium for the performing arts, a beautiful gymnasium, a spectacular student commons area and an all-weather track and football field with artificial turf.

Edwards and Chavez are two of 15 high school girls attending a free camp this week at the University of Nebraska's Peter Kiewit Institute.
Chavez, who will be a sophomore at Omaha's Benson High School, said she hoped the camp would help her decide what she wants for a future career.
Pauley said fliers about the camp were sent out to all Omaha-area coed and all-girls' high schools by the UNO College of Information Science and Technology and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering and Technology.

Omaha North High Magnet School has been selected as the recipient of the 2005-06 Siemens Awards for Advanced Placement for Nebraska for Math, Science and Technology.

Former Omaha newsman Floyd Kalber died in his suburban Chicago home Thursday at the age of 79.
He was a graduate of Omaha's Benson High School where he is a member of the school's Hall of Fame and the Nebraska Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame.
He received the nickname "The Big Tuna" of television news because his power in the newsroom was perceived to be as great as the power of the late Chicago mob boss Tony "Big Tuna" Acardo, local broadcast historian Rich Samuels said.

Lincoln resident, Omaha native and former dean of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, Richard Bradley, D.D.S., has recently been inducted as president of the American College of Dentists.
Bradley, who graduated from Omaha Benson High School in 1944, earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1952 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

That stadium survived the bombing during WW II, and upon arrival of the "Occupation Forces" in 1946 it was acquired for use by the US Military.
It was named Nile C Kinnick Stadium (presumably by the US Navy), and was used for sporting events not only for the military services, but by Narimasu and Meguro American High Schools as well.
