It includes, besides, the nucleus of Nkole, the pre-colonial states of Igara, Buhweju Bunyaruguru, Buzimba and some parts of the former kingdom of Mpororo.
The latter five were amalgamated into Nkole kingdom by the British, a process sealed off by the Ankole agreement of 1901.
