Attack of the 50 Foot DVD: Once Upon a Time in China II (1992)
Once there, however, Wong finds himself caught in several crossfires; a militant cult called the White Lotus Sect is killing all foreigners (and take a special dislike to the Westernized Aunt 13), but the government forces are more concerned with pro-democracy revolutionaries headed by Sun Yat Sen (another true-life historical figure).
Obviously, Once Upon A Time In China II tries to tell a more complex, epic story than the first installment, and this works both for and against it.
Once more, the English-dubbed version is included as an extra, and once again this deviates from the first disc: scenes with characters that spoke only English or Chinese and the difficulties this engendered were simply cut from the first movie.

Once Upon a Time in China 2
Once Upon a time in China 2 presents the continuing late-19th-century adventures of Chinese folk hero and doctor Wong Fei-Hong (Jet Li), who arrives in Canton for a medical conference.
In light of the Hong Kong box office success of Once Upon a Time in China (which was the 8th highest earner in 1991, making HK$29,672,278.00 over its 56 day run), it was only a matter of course before at least one sequel would get spawned.
The beginning section of Once Upon a Time in China II throws viewers into initially unfamiliar and terribly exotic looking territory: The fanatical realm of the White Lotus Sect, who we learn are virulently xenophobic -- their ritual incantations include the exhortation to “Kill all foreigners.

Once Upon a Time in China II (NTSC) | Funny UK Comedy
Like its predecessor, Once Upon a Time in China 2 stars Jet Li as Wong Fei Hung, this time pitched against the xenophobic White Lotus cult, which is violently trying to rid China of foreigners (the period is the early 20th century).
One flaw that may slightly upset fans (I know it upset the actor at the time) was the departure of Yuen Biao from the series after the original as the character Foon, who is played from this movie onwards by Mok Siu Chung.
In nearly every occasion it is difficult to say a sequel is equally or better than the original, however Once Upon a Time in China II is an exception to this rule.

The follow-up to Once Upon a Time in China features Wong Fei-Hong (again played by Jet Li) battling the White Lotus Cult, bent on expelling all foreigners from China through spreading their provocative rumours and enlisting new members for their ever-growing cult.
It wasn't until the first installment of the Wong Fei-hong epics, 'Once Upon a Time in China' that his resurgence was commercially recongised.
Whilst the plot itself is entirely fantastical in format, giving much credence to the 'Once Upon a Time' section of the title (it manages to merge Wong Fei-hong, Sun Yat-sen and the White Lotus cult into one period), the narrative remains smooth and involving.

A sequel to the bizarre "Once Upon a Time in China" — which was a wild homage to Sergio Leone's '60s spaghetti Westerns set in 19th-century China"Once Upon a Time in China II" is more of the same.
Director Tsui Hark is perhaps the most imaginative director of martial-arts action to ever make a movie, and this sequel opens with an under-the-credits reminder of the first film's most fascinating sequence, a ladders-and-lofts battle between the hero and the bad guy that is truly astonishing.

While all of the other films had great choreographers and memorable scenes, OUATIC II gels better than the rest and the impressive skills of Jet Li and Donnie Yen clashing is magnificent to behold.
For general Western audiences, I'd like to say that OUATIC II is a more accessible Hong Kong action film with it's balance of action, drama, and humor, but a characteristically flippant use of whimsically violent imagery within a real world setting may not appeal to sensitive viewers.
