We were on the 8th floor with a pretty decent view of Canal St. I believe the hotel is 14 stories.
The Astor also has a work-out room and pool/jacuzzi on the 3rd floor.
The work-out room seemed nice enough (although a bit small), and the pool/jacuzzi on the deck would be nice for warm weather.

At risk of making myself sound like a princess I have to honestly say that though the hotel is nice, it does not live up to its self-advertised luxury standards.
When we asked to have them make pancakes for our 5 year old, a picky eater, we were told that they were too busy.
In spite of the drawbacks the Astor does have a roof top pool and a pretty nice exercise room, both of which we used during our stay.
