The plural of ''foot'' is ''feet'', and this pair is one of seven mutated English plurals.
The structures of the human foot and hand are variations on the same basic five-digit anatomy, in common with many other vertebrates.
"One Foot" is a snowboard trick with a risk - one foot is not strapped into the bindings, instead it is placed beside the rear binding and boned far away from the board at airtimez.

Blues Guitar Greats is a non-stop parade of exemplary ax work: A great sampler and good starting point for those who want to delve into the extensive Delmark catalogue, a label synonymous with great contemporary Chicago blues for 40 years.
Newcomers to the blues should be forced to sit down and listen to the Muddy Waters late-'40s/early-'50s repertoire in which the "old man" sang with only the rudimentary accompaniment of Little Walter's harmonica, Big Crawford's bass and, occasionally, Baby Face Leroy's guitar or Little Johnnie Jones' piano.

They were formed in 1970 in and around Houston from rival bands the Moving Sidewalks (Gibbons) and American Blues (Hill and Beard).
As genuine roots musicians, they have few peers; Gibbons is one of America's finest blues guitarists working in the arena rock idiom -- both influenced by the originators of the form and British blues-rock guitarists like Peter Green -- while Hill and Beard provide the ultimate rhythm section support.
They have continued to support the blues through various means, perhaps most visibly when they were given a piece of wood from Muddy Waters' shack in Clarksdale, MS.

 Johnny Adams: 1932-1998
His music drew on blues, rhythm and blues, soul and jazz, and he was capable of polished and expressive performances in any of those styles.
He scored a substantial hit in 1959 with the single "I Won't Cry", and followed it with another, "A Losing Battle", in 1962 (the record was written and produced by Mac Rebennack, better known as Dr John).
The emblematic title One Foot In the Blues perhaps summed up his philosophy as well as any -- the blues were always present in his work, but that second foot could be planted in any of several different styles.

ZZ Top, One Foot in the Blues (Warner Bros. 1994) -- Though ZZ Top may have lost its lustre in recent years, there's no question that this Texas-based power trio is one of America's premier blues rock bands when they crank it up.
One Foot in the Blues is a chronicle of the first 20 years of the band (when they recorded for Warners); while it has some characteristics of a greatest hits album, it's really a greatest blues-blast album.
The 17 cuts on One Foot in the Blues are selected from throughout ZZ Top's career, and fairly represent the band at its power blues best.

On One Foot in the Blues, the masterful New Orleans crooner known as the "Tan Canary" smolders through a tasteful songbook alongside some solid jazz stablemates, including alto-saxophonist and former Jazz Messenger Donald Harrison, veteran guitarist Jimmy Ponder, and organist Dr. Lonnie Smith.
Adams's effortless power wells up at a moment's notice on the delicious title tune and two numbers penned by blues poet laureate Percy Mayfield, whose work was the subject of an entire Adams set a few years back.
Here Adams's other foot is tapping out ballad tempos on such jazz standards as "Ill Wind" and "Angel Eyes." In the past he has displayed a more natural flair for RandB and pop material -- but there isn't a tune out there that Johnny Adams can't spin into gold.

Although the band were known first and foremost as arena rockers by the late '90s, most longtime ZZ Top fans knew that the Texas trio's roots lay in blues, especially evident in the classic early '70s Warner's albums.
ZZ Top's former record co-compiled 17 of the band's tastiest blues tracks from throughout the years, focusing on many long-lost and forgotten tracks that sound as vibrant today as they did when first recorded.
You can't go wrong with such killer boogie-woogie as the album opener "Brown Sugar" (no relation to the Rolling Stones hit of the same name), the calm "Hot, Blue, and Righteous," or the latter-day rocker "My Head's in Mississippi," to name but several.

On Heavy [Blue Hen Records], however, his two muses merge in a swirling melange of twisted Western swing, skewed Bakersfield twang, ominous surf, and over-the-limit, hot-rod jazz.
