Even if I can't stand both the movie title and the basic, braindamaged plot idea, this is not at all a film about playboys and playgirls.

Will Ferrell starred on Saturday Night Live for seven years, but he hasn't been back to the show since 2002, when he left to pursue what has proved to be a successful movie career.
But his newest movie, the family-friendly soccer-dad comedy Kicking and Screaming, may be a tougher sell to the fratboy crowd that made hits out of Old School and Anchorman, and who still watch SNL.
Promoting his movie ''Kicking and Screaming,'' he'll return as host on May 14 by Gary Susman

 One Night Stand
While Max and Karen agree to "be adult," to treat their one night stand as such and return to their respective marriages, this becomes impossible for several reasons.
In fact, One Night Stand seems intensely and disturbingly unable to pull itself together, despite overt efforts to wrangle a coherent denouement from its convolutions.
But while One Night Stand does deliver the expected tryst and Max's crises of conscience and identity, these events are framed in increasingly bewildering ways.

Drunk on His Own Jazz - Mike Figgis' One Night Stand. By David Edelstein
In a lot of ways, One Night Stand is a coming-out movie manqué.
One Night Stand begins with Snipes walking along a midtown Manhattan street and explaining his situation to the camera, which goes on to do a lot of illustrative swirling and whip-panning, although Snipes never talks to it again.
Pretentious singers sometimes call themselves "song stylists." I think of Figgis as a "film stylist," and he's one of the world's most engaging.

Kolchak: The Night Stalker only approached the shark towards the end of the series, which happened to last only one season, not because the series was running out of ideas, but because Darrin McGavin could no longer stand the behind-the-scenes tampering and politics.
The pilot film, "The Night Stalker," produced by the great Dan Curtis of Dark Shadows fame, was one of the most suspenseful and engrossing horror films ever on television (or, for that matter, in the movies).
After that, they had one more tv movie, the Night Strangler, and then the series.

Some of the funniest scenes in the movie occur when Mary Katherine, absorbed in her romantic fantasies and impervious to her surroundings, has a one sided conversation with an apparent fantasy lover for whom she substitutes a tree as a stand in.
Superstar is a big-screen vehicle for Molly Shannon, the latest comic from the American sketch show Saturday Night Live to have a movie built around her.
Superstar never commits to one side or the other, which makes it both comic and uncomfortable.

Shall We Dance? (2004) - A Hollywood Jesus Movie Review
Just as anyone can chose to join in at a dance or stand by the wall simply to watch, the decision to seek a life of meaning, passion, and emotion is also a choice.
Then, one night, he finds himself enrolling in a dance class after recognizing the same longing he feels inside himself on the face of a woman (Jennifer Lopez) staring out a dance studio window he passes every night.
As I went to watch it, I already had it pigeonholed into a variety of stereotypes—Richard Gere movie, JLo movie, dance movie, chick flick, probably-not-as-good-as-the-foreign-original movie.

 The Bat (1926)
Hell, stand The Terror’s cloaked and hooded killer up next to Ghostface from the Scream movies— just about the only difference there is that that damned Edvard Munch painting wasn’t yet staring down from the wall of every college dorm room in America in 1928.
Meanwhile, people keep glimpsing both the Bat and Bandanaman prowling around the mansion, and there is much talk of a secret room hidden somewhere in the house, wherein the bank robber presumably stashed the $200,000 upon his arrival the other night.
This movie treats its characters much more roughly than The Monster had, and both the Bat and his black-clad rival pose a far more credible threat than the earlier film’s quartet of kitschy madmen.

Fright Night, the popular 1985 scream-feast by Tom Holland, is truly a B-movie.
Some people think we need to lower our standards for such productions, but to me, a movie is a movie, and each must stand on its own merits.
Fright Night details the misadventures of a 17-year-old named Charley Brewster (William Ragsdale) who discovers that a bloodsucking vampire (Chris Sarandon) has occupied the vacant house next door.

The Dundee’s midnight movies make the theater stand out as something special in a movie business that is focused largely on everything being the same.
But for the staff of the Dundee, the most fun from the midnight movies is when they show a movie they all really love and decide to go all out and do something special for the evening’s audience.
But the most ambitious of these midnight bonuses will come later this year when “Being John Malkovich” is the film of the week.
