These stories are not stated to be a part of the Nights; they will be published and translated by H. Wehr on the basis of preliminary studies by A. von Bulmerincq.
Of these three parts only the third one seems to have belonged to the original frame-work story, as indicated by al-Mas`udi and by the Fihrist; in it, then, only the cruel king, the clever daughter of the vizier and her true old nurse were known.
These poems and verses are mostly of the kind that they might be omitted without disturbing the course of the prose texts, and, therefore, have been later added to them.

One of These Nights - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
One of These Nights is the fourth studio album by the American rock band The Eagles, released in 1975.
While the original version from One of These Nights was used for the original transmissions of all five radio series, various "soundalike covers" were used for other formats.
The LP and TV adaptations of the series used an arrangement by Tim Souster, the CD releases of the radio series transmitted in 2004 and 2005 used one by Philip Pope, and the 2005 film used one by Joby Talbot.

Typically, these stories recount the adventures of tribal or national heroes.
For centuries it was frowned upon by educated Arabs for its inelegant style and mixing of the classical and vernacular languages.
The Nights had a wide influence on European literary taste during the 18th and 19th centuries, when orientalism was fashionable.

After one night of debauchery, the (now drunken) prince summons the jinn, who (after some ado) kills the woman, transforms the prince into a baboon and abandons him on a distant mountain.
The murderer is found and tells his story: Mislead by a slave, he killed the girl (his wife) in a fit of rage over her alleged unfaithfulness, which he later finds out to be groundless.

Gautier was fascinated by antique times and classical cultures; strange and fantastic events; exotic and compelling horrors; and love that transcends class, time, and even death.
The book (translated by the 19th-century fantasist Lafcadio Hearn) opens with "One of Cleopatra's Nights," in which a common hunter recklessly declares his love for the queen; instead of having him executed, she proposes to take him for her lover, if he will agree to one horrific condition.
The collection concludes with the erotically charged novella "King Candaules," in which an ancient Greek ruler is unsatisfied with his beautiful wife's Oriental modesty, which allows only her husband to see her face; he arranges for one of his captains to see her naked, with ironic and tragic results.

A major reason I like One of These Nights more than its forerunners is its relative lack of conceptual pretension.
One of These Nights is far from flawless.
These limitations, however, seem built in to the latter-day concept of Southern California rock, of which the Eagles remain the unrivaled exponents.

Okay, it helps that the first series of Phoenix Nights was side-splittingly funny, that the mismatched characters are each funny in their own rights, but the sum of their talents is absolutley hilarious.
Phoenix Nights allows him a lead role in writing, casting and performing in a comedy so quirky and lo-fi that it's the nearest thing to US director Kevin Smith's "Jay and Silent Bob" quintet that Britain in general, and Bolton in particular, has ever produced.
The style is deadpan, a brilliant pastiche of the "docu-soaps" which have plagued TV schedules for the past decade, but the humour is intense, quick-fire and full of disturbingly memorable one-liners ("talk to the organ, not the monkey grinder" has become a catchphrase in my house!).

The cohesive plot device concerns the efforts of Scheherezade, or Sheherazade, to keep her husband, King Shahryar (or Schriyar), from killing her by entertaining him with a tale a night for 1,001 nights.
Although many of the stories are set in India, their origins are unknown and have been the subject of intensive scholarly investigation.
The present form of Thousand and One Nights is thought to be native to Persia or one of the Arabic-speaking countries, but includes stories from a number of different countries and no doubt reflects diverse source material.

As a reader, if your desire is to fully experience these tales as closely as possible in capturing that sense of adventure, excitement, of magic and morality that has fascinated imaginations for centuries, Burton's "plain literal translation" certainly dazzles and entertains, vividly, powerfully, without disappointment.
You shall be drawn into the world of the thousand nights and a night, of Islam and Jinns, through Burton's archaic though eloquent diction--a part of the veil of fantasy--and his ample knowledge of Middle Eastern culture.

One of These Nights, their fourth album, was released in June 1975, more than 14 months after its predecessor.
Anticipation had been heightened by the belated chart-topping success of the third album's "The Best of My Love"; taking a little more time, the band generated more original material, and that material was more polished.
One of These Nights was the culmination of the blend of rock, country, and folk styles the Eagles had been making since their start; there wasn't much that was new, just the same sorts of things done better than they had been before.

The best songs portray L.A. culture fairly straightforwardly, using occult eroticism ("One of These Nights," "Too Many Hands" and "Visions") and sexual duplicity and malaise ("Hollywood Waltz," "Lyin' Eyes," "After the Thrill Is Gone") as metaphors for the city's transient, hedonistic ambience.
