Onehunga is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand.
The residential and light-industrial suburb lies between the suburbs of Royal Oak, Oranga, and Te Papapa, close to the Mangere Bridge and the north shore of the Manukau Harbour.
Onehunga Bay is located on the coast of the Tasman Sea near Porirua.

Onehunga Business High School - New Zealand’s first business high school - will achieve another national first this year with the introduction of a new Certificate in Business and Entrepreneurship.
The Onehunga High Business School opened last year with 51 students from Year 10 up.  It is partly funded by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), from the Enterprise Culture and Skills Activities Fund.
Mr Falkenstein, who chairs the Onehunga Business High School board of directors, says the idea was sparked when he read a survey showing New Zealanders had the world’s highest rate of business start-ups but weren’t so good at keeping them running.

Onehunga was the first village we went through on the drive to Auckland.
It is very quaint and picturesque and at the end of the main drag was an old Post Office that had been converted into a coffee shoppe!
There was one I really liked, a stove top espresso machine, but it was several hundred dollars and I thought this would be too much for a souvenir!

Onehunga’s Library and Community Centre is about to boast its biggest first birthday present in February with the unveiling of its new Pacific Island themed sculpture, Hautaha.
Before building began on the new Onehunga community centre and library, a group from the community and Auckland City explored ways in which artworks could enhance the new building, and a reference group was then set up to progress the idea.
The $70,000 artwork will be erected outside the new Onehunga Library and Community Centre, on the corner of Church and Upper Municipal Streets in Onehunga.

Police were on the scene and dealing with the incident at Onehunga High School within seven minutes of receiving the five 111 calls on Monday 8 August.
Inspector Karen Wilson, Acting Centre Manager at the Northern Communications Centre says a patrol unit was dispatched within a minute of receiving the first call and was in the area within seven minutes.
However we would not want to discourage any caller from calling 111 to report a serious situation,` Inspector Wilson said.
