Onett (Pronounced oh-net), Eagleland is the name of a town in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System game EarthBound.
Buzz Buzz tells Ness that it has been prophesised that 4 chosen children will defeat the alien Giygas, and that Ness is one of them.
Onett has quite a few houses (even though it is the second smallest town in the game) and several interesting places, including an Arcade, a Library, a Drug Store, a Fast-Food Restaurant and a Pizza Parlor.

Earthbound is an RPG with lots of heart, but not much else.
Earthbound's approach to its world is very simple, like the rest of the game, but instead of coming off as free and uncomplex, it just comes off as cramped and overly linear.
Well, visuals in Earthbound are actually a bit of a sticking point for me. The original Mother that Earthbound is based on had very good graphics for the NES, and it bothers me how much Earthbound resembles Mother.

One night, on the continent of EagleLand, near the town of Onett, a meteor of sorts crashes, waking up your character (there are bunch of default names, but I'll use Ness here since it's the first one to pop up) and everyone in his house, Ness goes to investigate.
In fact, Earthbound actually has a sense of humor...I love how the kid Pokey refuses to do anything useful in a fight, and funny responses are given whenever he does something.
This game is living proof that you don't need to throw in good graphics, great music, complicated battle systems, or any other innovations (other than the atmosphere, which sets this game apart from just about any medievil or sci-fi style RPG you could think of) just to be a good game.

OK, I probably confused you to heck with that by-line, but in Japan, EarthBound is called Mother 2, so it all works out, OK? Well, in 1995, a young boy named Ness is in bed asleep.
He is woken by loud knocking at the door, and gets up to see who it is. It just happens to be Pokey from next-door, and he tells you that a meteorite has landed on the hill just next to Ness' hometown, Onett.
Few games have ever surpassed EarthBound in my mind, and it'll definitely be a long time before I've forgotten about EarthBound.
