Onimusha - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is for this reason that it is implied that the Onimusha sword was created when Samanosuke essence combined with that of all the other weapons he gained from the Oni and thus his final sword power depends on wether or not those other weapons have reached their maximum potential.
This is not different weapon from the Onimusha Sword as when the inventory is checked all of Samanosuke's other weapons have remained and it is only the Onimusha Sword that has disappeared, and in its place is the Genma Samonjin, as the result of the fusing.
Her mission is to apprehend and exterminate her renegade uncle, Yagyu Munenori, a son of Muneyoshi, for his atrocities of the Yagyu clan's massacre and sided with Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the legion of Genma's clan as a watchdog.

Onimusha drifts from history just a trifle; leading the undead army is Nobunaga, who dies before his time in the amazing introductory FMV with an arrow through the throat.
Onimusha controls with the digital pad for movement, Square functions as attack, Circle absorbs souls, X is action/open door, decide, and Triangle is special move/cancel.
Onimusha is already rated M, and that scene shouldn't push it into AO territory, so what happened was that the scene was just butchered.

Onimusha is more than just a Resident Evil title with a samurai, it's a great action title with marvelous graphics as well as gameplay.

 PS2 Game Reviews: Onimusha: Warlords
Onimusha's got them and frankly they look amazing, but folks we live in the 128-Bit era, pre-renders are a thing of the past, they belong on a console like the PSOne.
Onimusha also features some luscious special effects such as thunder and fire, which can be created by the swing of your sword.
Onimusha's only real problem is one that has hit every single survival-horror game that Capcom has produced, that's right, the game's a bit on the short side.

 Onimusha
Onimusha is also structured in such a way that at certain points, you have to kill and destroy loads of creatures in order to gain a new level, this is also very annoying as this is where the game gets a bit frustrating as you feel like you’re going around in circles for no reason.
Onimusha’s interface is also very similar to the Resident Evil series, where players pull up a menu to use and control various items.
Onimusha’s gameplay may owe a bit too much to the Resident Evil series which also means some of those game’s problems have translated as well, but it still has a good mix of strategy and action with some RPG elements that should please most action gamers.

Gaming Target - PlayStation 2: Onimusha 3: Demon Siege - Review
Returning from an absence (in visible form, there were notes and words concerning him) in Onimusha 2, the game revolves around the adventures of Samanosuke, a 16th century samurai with the power of Onimusha — the ability to kill demons (known as Genma this time around) and absorb their souls to power himself up.
Onimusha 3 plays the same as its predecessors — only this time, the game is entirely in 3D, with no pre-rendered backgrounds to hamper things.
Onimusha 3 is as far from a Resident Evil game as you’d imagine, shifting from what was RE with swords to its own unique action/adventure slant — the slow evolving process is outstanding.

 Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny - PS2
Onimusha 2 doesn’t just consist of fighting, killing, and more fighting, there are also several spots that require you to use your noggin’ to complete a puzzle in order to progress where you need to go next in the game.
There aren’t quite as many puzzles in Onimusha 2 as there was in the Resident Evil games, but there are a few, and they’re actually a lot more fun than the ones in Resident Evil.
Overall I thought Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny was an enjoyable, but yet again, hack n’ slash fighting type game, but was balanced enough with the way you had to fight a boss that I didn’t mind the hack n’ slash as much.

Onimusha 3: Demon Siege - PlayStation 2 Review
It is in the opinion of this reviewer that Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, the second part, managed to feel much different than the first.
Onimusha 3, though, must be good enough to feel different than the TWO games before it; a mighty task.
Every Onimusha game begins with an absolutely beautiful CG opening, and the one in Onimusha 3 is the best one this reviewer has ever seen, hands down.

 Review: Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny for PS2 on Gamepro.com.
Jubei initially begins a mission of revenge to destroy the slime that trashed his village, but his quest is quickly interrupted when he's swept up in a supernatural plot and crosses paths with four other characters - a female gladiator, a rifleman, a ninja, and a spearsman - that possess various skills.
Onimusha 2 brings back most of the good stuff from the first game - swords imbued with wind and lightning - and adds them to an arsenal of new weapons, such as a spear and giant hammer.
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny is a worthy successor to the first game as it features enough new elements and excellent replay value.

The puzzles in Genma Onimusha slow you down just enough to recall the plot and the setting of the title, but aren't so involved that they lose the interest of the hardcore action gamers.

While the end result seems too simplistic to interest hardcore tactics fans, Onimusha Tactics could be a good title to introduce beginners to this increasingly popular genre.
From all appearances, Onimusha Tactics is quite intentionally the lightest tactics game on the market, eschewing features common (and sometimes desirable) in other successful GBA tactics games like Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Tactics Ogre.
Onimusha Tactics' release timing is unfortunate, released on the heels of the excellent, popular, and advertised Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and with Nintendo's Fire Emblem nipping at its heels.

I beat the original PS2 game Onimusha: Warlords, and while the game itself wasn't terribly long or difficult, the game was done exceptionally well on all fronts.
So, while the old adage "If it isn't broke, don't fix it" comes to mind, gamers who purchased the Xbox were promised a version of the game that had increased gameplay, new features, and all sorts of other goodies, including a game that was dramatically more difficult then it's PS2 cousin.
In Genma Onimusha, the whole point of the game is to not only rescue Princess Yuki, but to defeat the insidious plot that is currently being hatched by the demon horde.

 IGN: Onimusha Tactics Review
The game, set within the established Onimusha universe, follows Onimaru, a warrior on a quest to defeat the evil Genma army, and ultimately, the general Nobunaga.
Onimusha Tactics story is interesting enough to keep playing to the end, but don't expect much of a challenge along the way.
No multiplayer games, and the quest is incredibly straightforward...it'll last a decent time all the way to the end, but don't expect an entirely different experience a second time through.

December 28, 2005 - Onimusha: Warlords is a game that was made in the vain of Capcom's Resident Evil games.
Overall, Onimusha: Warlords is a fun game with an awkward control scheme and a short campaign.
If the controls were better, I probably wouldn't mind playing the game several times on all the difficulty levels, but as it stands now, this game could have been so much more.

GAF - News - Capcom's countdown revealed: new Onimusha
Well, the newest issue of Famitsu magazine features an announcement along with the first details of a new game in the Onimusha series - something which had been a popular speculation for what the countdown might be for.
However, I agree with those who said they should've waited for the next-gen consoles--in terms of dramatic changes the games haven't experienced too many; mostly it was keeping the same formula, graphics and gameplay with small tweaks and improvements.
However I thought Onimusha 3 was great and easily the best of the three (gotta love that opening movie), but can they make a game better than its predecessor(s) without going next-gen? I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a hasty rehash of the previous game, rather than the "changed playstyle" they're talking about.

Onimusha Tactics has an innovative system of item generation and a character-development engine similar to that of the original Onimusha games.
Despite its shortcomings, Onimusha Tactics is a solid game with an engaging story.
