I only see that this "dream" came to my mother in Dubrovnik in the shape of 9 months of savage and brutal attacks by the combined Montenegrin and Serbian hordes and has left her on the brink of poverty in today's "free" Croatia.

We only know that Samardzija, like Slobodan Milosevic, was always a patriot: first for Yugoslavia and then for “Greater Serbia.” And then in 1992 he succumbed to a particularly virulent strain of the nationalist disease he had shown a penchant for.

"Only unity saves the Serbs," is the famous call for unity in the Serb nationalist doctrine, but even though this doctrine was ideologically adhered to by most of the Serb leaders in Bosnia, disunity has been a dominant characteristic of Serb politics since the first multiparty elections.
The call for unity is not only found in Serb nationalist discourse, but is an integral part of the nationalist argument: the claim to homogeneity, the claim that the nation is, or should be, a unitary actor with a single goal.
This was due to gradual ethnification in the pre-war period, competition by non-political means during the war and the international presence in the post-war period.

The Serb people believed that the survival of their culture and faith throughout the Ottoman, Austrian, and Nazi occupations was founded upon unity in the face of adversity.
The symbolic representation of this belief is a cross with a Cyrillic "C" in each corner standing for "Only Unity Saves the Serbs." The symbol was painted on surfaces throughout Bosnia during and after the war, and it is incorporated in the national symbol of the RS.

The alternative, to save face for NATO and Bill, is to put 500,000 NATO troops in an invasion posture, but to defeat Yugoslavia's 500,000 man force of 90,000 regulars plus reservists, it would take well more than a month to put those NATO troops in attack position.

Each country has their own exclusive church- the Macedonian Orthodox for the Macedonians, Serb Orthodox for the Serbs, Russian Orthodox for the Russians etc. They each teach that their ethnic group are the true people of God- so, axiomatically, they have to be divided from the other Orthodox churches.
So we agree in outline with the Orthodox position that unity is related to having “the correct and saving confession of faith” of which Bishop Photios wrote.

"As far as the flag is concerned, the two flags [Serbian and Montenegrin] differ only in the proportions and shades of blue, [so] it's evident that it would not be necessary [to change the flag] as it would be difficult to find a [new] flag that would correspond to logic," Bacovic said.
But he predicted that it would be difficult, if not impossible, for the two republics to agree on a common coat of arms or anthem.
The Yugoslav coat of arms contained a two-headed Serbian eagle bearing a quartered shield containing the Montenegrin lion and the abbreviation SSSS in Cyrillic, standing for "Samo Sloga Srbina Spasava" ("Only Unity Saves the Serbs").

It is the national, religious and ethnic symbol of Serbs and Serbia.
However, the common interpretation is that they are four Cyrillic letters С (which looks like Latin letter C but reads like Latin letter S; this can create confusion and sometimes it is said that the cross is surrounded with four letters C or four letters S).
A popular extension of this interpretation is that the four letters represent the slogan "Само Слога Србина Спасава" (Samo Sloga Srbina Spasava) which in English translates to "Only Unity Saves the Serbs".

The Nationalism Project: Competing National Ideologies Chapter II
What the Kosovo uprising had taught the LCC was, no matter the rhetoric of national unity and the Federation as the guarantor of the continuance of historic national movements, the LCS would prove to be the agent of centralist mobilisation and state expansion into the public and cultural sphere (Horvat 1989: 18).
Realising that the only way to counter the centre’s move towards populism was by likewise utilising nationalist populism, the LCC called for republican elections in order to circumvent the moves by the LCY and LCS to instigate Federal elections that would ensure a pro-Serb majority vote within the Federal Parliament (Puhovski 1995: 131).
Yugoslav society was polarised, and only through ‘mimicking’ each step of the centre’s embracement of populism with a peripheral counter-populism could the LCC form alternate structures that would utilise the cycle of reform-protest-reform to their own advantage (Pupovac 1995: 142; Riesman 1996: 351).
