  Yoko Ono at AllExperts
Ono and her siblings fled to the countryside, and were forced to beg for food while pulling their belongings in a wheelbarrow.
Ono received an honorary Doctorate of Laws from Liverpool University in 2001; in 2002 she was presented with the honorary degree of Doctor of Fine Arts from Bard College.
Ono is often accused by Beatles fans of breaking up the band (although many other Beatles fans argue that she did not); to this day, women who have (intentionally or not) come between high-profile musicians and their bandmates are compared to Ono, Nancy Spungen and Courtney Love being just two examples.

Charlie Chaplin's Japanese connection - The Honolulu Advertiser - Hawaii's Newspaper
Although Ono says the relationship between the men was "never warm," he cites dozens of letters intended for Chaplin but addressed to Kono as evidence that the Japanese assistant was the man you had to go through to get to the star.
Ono took news of his find to a July 2005 Chaplin conference in London, where the assembled Chaplin scholars excitedly encouraged him to host his own conference in Japan.
Ono said the conference ignored Chaplin's collision with nationalist extremism because the near assassination of the world's greatest comedian is well known in Japan — a debatable statement in a country whose school texts are notoriously skimpy on the history of that dark period.

John Lennon has told of his first magical meeting with Yoko Ono, when he wandered into her one-woman show at the Indica Gallery in London on November 9, 1966, a pivotal date in the ferment remembered as the Nineteen Sixties, and was intrigued, as well as mystified, by what he saw.

 The Funky Drummer: October 2005
Hiroshima needs little introduction, but although most people know that America dropped a nuclear bomb on the city during the WW2, I was ignorant of the finer details of story.
And terrible it was; the lone bomb, that measured a mere 3 meters in length, released such a huge amount of atomic energy, that for several hundreds of meters around the explosion, the temperature rose to 3000C in 3 seconds, and completed incinerated everything.
Indeed, Hiroshima is now indistinguishable from any other Japanese city; its grey high rise buildings stretching to the mountains in every direction.
