However, what you may not realize is that there are three different "levels" of Court in Ontario (Superior Court of Justice, Simplified Rules in the Superior Court of Justice and Small Claims Court) and that the costs of going to Court can vary, depending on the level of Court that is selected.
The first and the most expensive level of Court to litigate in is the Superior Court of Justice for when a dispute involves an amount over $50,000.00.
All parties are required to file with the court and serve upon the other parties all documents upon which they intend to rely at least 14 days prior to the conference, together with a list of their proposed witnesses.

The Court expressly rejected arguments by the Crown that sought to characterize the Mormon faith as “not Christian” and Christianity as the “law of the land”.
Justice Pitfield failed to articulate how a section 1 justification that was expressly rejected by an overwhelming majority of the Supreme Court in the context of common law relationships was nonetheless justified in the context of marriage.

However, while the Court went on to conclude that a fundamental breach had taken place, it did so on the basis of the common law and not on the basis of article 49 of the CISG, as it should have done.

On March 8, 2002, the Supreme Court of Canada refused to hear an appeal by the Co-Operators General Insurance Company, meaning an Ontario Court of Appeal decision that policy holders whose cars are written off should get the full value of their vehicle, and that no deductible should be applied.
"The court ruling states that people must be paid the actual cash value of their car, not the actual cash value less the deductible," said Kirk Baert of Koskie Minsky in Toronto.
