Also, the two sides of Highway 7A would be directly connected using a bridge so drivers would not have to use Highway 35 to continue from one side of that road to the other.

The provincial government plans to improve Highway 7 between Fowlers Corners and Highway 115, but the City of Kawartha Lakes council has decided not to support the project until it has seen the final plan.
Angela Stewart from the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and Steve Taylor from NCE Ltd., a transportation consulting company, presented information about the preliminary design study and environmental assessment for the Highway 7 project to Council last week.
Council referred the matter to staff to determine the cost of maintaining the current Highway 7 when it becomes a service road and to hold further meetings with the Ministry of Transportation and the neighbouring townships.
