	Onyxia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		In World of Warcraft, Onyxia is the daughter of Neltharion the Earthwarder (also known as Deathwing the Destroyer) and sister of Nefarian.
		Onyxia currently resides in Dustwallow Marsh, slowly building an army.
		The fact that some Stormwind nobles were involved with the Defias, as some Stockades quest proved, implies that Onyxia, through her nobles, has an influence on the Defias group.

		Onyxia's lar is quite large (which is good because she can tail slap you across most of it) and oval-shaped, being long to the north-south.
		Onyxia also has a mean tail swipe which will punt you across half the lair and do a good bit of damage.
		When onyxia reaches 65% health, she will turn and walk to the southern part of the lair, where she takes off and flies.

	How to kill Onyxia
		No one is to attack Onyxia until the MT is in position and has been in position building agro for at least 60 seconds.
		Onyxia will be flying around in the lair so people doing ranged damage need to be keeping in range.
		If you are spread out enough Onyxia will only hit a couple people at a time with Engulfing Flames and she will likely never take a deep breath.

		As the tank standing in front of Onyxia, you'll be subjected to about 200,000-300,000 points of damage from when you first annoy her to when she dies, depending on how fast you can kill her.
		Flame Breath is cast by Onyxia at level 63, and deals 3063-3937 (average 3500) damage within a 45 yard radius.
		But yes, I tanked Onyxia quite a few times with about 50FR, and it isn't the absolute end of the world if you don't have massive FR gear.

		What this accomplished was a phase 2 in which Onyxia would have Shadow Word: Pain knocked off for Serpent Sting, people not having a clue what to do with a deep breath, and half the raid gone by the start of phase 3.
		Onyxia can only deep breath on a 180º line on the circle, straight through the center.
		What this means, is that when Onyxia is off in the Northwest corner, EVERYBODY MOVES to the Northeast or Southwest Corner.

		Yeah thats true, one of our hunters went all out dps on Onyxia and she turned on the raid, bouncing from mage to rogues and warlocks.
		Just have to tell your raid members to not go all balls out dps on Onyxia and you will be ok, of course Dps is key in the fight, but control is a must.
		With our last patch, Paladins were getting all kinds of screwy aggro with a couple of their blessings, and though its been "hotfixed" we're finding that if a paladin does nothing but keep wisdom on Onyxia in Phase 1 and 2.

		I've never fought onyxia but doing something that takes 4 times the number of people is pretty impressive.
		Pretty impressive, it's amazing that they dodged the 10+ deep breaths Onyxia did Also, apparently one of the druids died at around 50% so they kind of 9 manned her for awhile!
		Onyxia will be impossible to solo because of Deep Breath.

		Yesterday I read a topic in the general forum of USA WoW and ppl claimed that you can't kill the Onyxia with plain spells and swords and you have to find something in her lair...Now they know that some slanting-eyes guys beat onyxia before them.
		And no, I do not think they cheated to kill Onyxia, but I do know that there is the floating hack to level mages (and only mages) extremely fast, it was a comment on that part of the post.

		It's not that I think Onyxia is particularly difficult - if we happen to get lucky and get through phase1, phase2 is super trivial, and phase3 - while hectic - is relatively low in its damage output.
		Also, the Onyxia speed hack should also be fixed in that same build (unfortunately, we couldn't stop her from farming feathers for gold in Azshara though).
		For what it's worth (onyxia bugs notwithstanding), I'm enjoying the current high end raid content and am not overly concerned about the patch delays.

		In order to enter Onyxia's Lair, you need to posses the Drakefire Amulet, which is only attainable through a very long quest chain.

	Onyxia
		Onyxia Scale Cloak is probably the best FR cloak you're going to have for Vael, where FR is extremely important, and you can't even kill Nef unless your entire raid has one!
		Also, when our MT was absent a few times we had our MA step in who wasn't as well equipped and we noticed that on a few occasions, some of the better hunters were able to aggro her if they hit a big crit (in our case it was about 2800+).
		Our strategy to Onyxia is slightly different to that of Raccoon's and if you wish I can type it up.
