Oodaaq is the name given to a bank of gravel and silt, north east of Greenland that was at one stage considered by some to be the most northerly point of land on earth.
Oodaaq lies at 83°40′ N 30°40′ W (http://kvaleberg.com/extensions/mapsources/index.php?params=83_40_N_30_40_W_), only 600km south of the North Pole and 1360 metres north of Kaffeklubben Island, lying near the north east tip of Greenland.
In July 2001, the Return to the Top of the World Expedition, led by John Jancik and Ken Zerbst, confirmed that their discovery of the 1996 RTOW island and permanent land feature is indeed the northernmost point of land on earth.

In 1996 the American Top of the World Expedition (ATOW1996) crossed from the north coast of Greenland past Kaffeklubben Island with the goal of reaching Oodaaq Island by walking over the sea ice.
We discovered a nearly submerged island in the approximate 1985 orthophoto map location of Oodaaq.
A single large flat boulder broke the surface of a melt water pool trapped over the island by surrounding small ice ridges.

That failure, along with the 1978 discovery of Oodaaq Island, surveyed by the Danish as the exact northernmost point of land on earth, made them more determined to complete the project.
The result was a team of ten climbers from Colorado, California, Utah, Wisconsin, and Montana who were able to explore the mountains, glaciers, valleys, tundra and sea ice that make up the region called North Peary Land, and accomplish what Zerbst and Jancik had dreamed of for 17 years.
From the summit of Kaffeklubben Island, I scanned the horizon to the north with binoculars looking for Oodaaq Island, the tiny chunk of rock which is the northernmost point of land on earth.

doubts remain because of the inconsistancy between the island they attained, “ATOW1996,” and those recorded by the original discoverers of Oodaaq.
The coordinates for ATOW1996 are acutally further north than those for Oodaaq, so it currently holds the record for the most northerly point of land.

The best known of the North Pole Inuit, Uutaaq, has had his name spelled Ootah, Odark, Otaq, Oodaaq, and even Wootah.
This has to be some sort of record for phonetic butchery combinations for a name with a mere two syllables!
