Openbox uses XML for it's config files, which can be a little unforgiving if you get the syntax wrong, or if you're unfamilliar with XML.

These are annoying but OK, i need to compile my openbox with debugging symbols and not stripped to trace the offending action, it probably comes from the fact that the new malloc acts a bit like electric-fence, it automatically crashes apps that access unallocated memory which is probably what happens.
I'm using openbox instead of metacity in a gnome desktop, and I was wondering where openbox get it's font sizes from.
It seems that with gnome-settings-daemon behaving oddly for me, that the size of the fonts openbox uses to draw the titles of windows is varying.

I decided to give OpenBox a try (if anyone thinks I would like some other WM, feel free to comment - the main thing I'm looking for is a WM which is superfast, does what I want, and is easily controlled from the keyboard).
Is there some way I can do the same thing in OpenBox (I don't want to bind a key for every program I use!) Basically, I'm looking for a little utility which runs a command.
I know that, the reason I dropped OpenBox was because I didn't like the general feel of it, not because I couldn't get that particular feature.

My Openbox is Openbox 3.1, and after awhile with the default theme I installed Obconf off of APT and started real configuration! Fluxbox doesn't have a GTK based configuration utility, nah na na nah nah!

Last night / This AM (it was a bit blurry) I was continuing to tinker with Openbox.
Openbox was also not showing up as a session choice in gdm.
It dawned on me that I probably had not created a file in the /etc/gdm/Sessions directory for gdm to even know that Openbox was installed.

I used OpenBox for quite a while and liked it much more than Fluxbox.
In Openbox, you don't have any toolbars or menus, you use what you want without getting rid of the default that comes with things like Fluxbox.
I also felt the configuration (key binding, menus, etc.) to be much less restrictive, and, contrary to what many will say, much easier to navigate and configure.

The ISA network card was disfunctional, my spare PCI network card is too new for the machine, and I can't find the Intel PRO 100 card I used to get Turbo online.
I have installed dapper on to a pentium pro 133 with 96 mb ram, and that was acctually with xfce as DE.
Around four hours or so, plus or minus the time it took to troubleshoot and concoct a way of updating and installing a GUI without a network connection.
