Openglad is an SDL port of an old DOS game called Gladiator, which was developed by FSGames in the mid 90's.
FSGames donated the original source (made for DOS, of course) under the GPL when one of them found our earlier project (now abandoned in favor of this one) to make a full Gladiator clone.

If you have something you would like see added to Openglad-e, or have any questions about the planned features, let us know in the forums.
Openglad-e CVS has targa, ogg, and charfiles support now, so that you can define classes via a file called (classname).char, you can edit the graphics easilly, and the sounds are l337.
Available immediately as a source tarball or zip, this version fixes the crash-on-retreat bug that was in 0.97 that came about as a result of the leak fixes from 0.95, so it should be a good upgrade for everyone using either.95 or.97.

Gladiator was originally created by Forgotten Sages Games as shareware, with a requisite registration fee that was required to get at the level editor, extra levels, and extra character classes.
Sometime during 2002, it was open sourced by its creators, and Snowstorm Entertainment took over development and ported it to Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, BeOS, and Windows.
Up to four players can play on one computer, and Player vs Player mode can be turned on if desired.

Best of all, in 2002, the designer kindly released the source code under GPL license, and the result is OpenGlad, a polished port of the game done by a team of fans.
The SDL (for Windows) is the version you can download here, as well as the original DOS shareware version.

 HardHat's PSP Game Page
Since it was a DOS game originally, it was pretty straight forward to make it perform and fit in the PSP.
Thanks to the great coders from openglad for a solid base to build on.
Currently I've only ported the game engine, but there is also a level editor that could be made available on the PSP, if there are requests.
