 The Crow River, Algonquin Park, Trip Report
The portage from Opeongo to Proulx is an easy one which facilitates looking around as gear is carried.
The ebony and river jewelwings were especially plentiful, and as ususal their slow fluttery flight and the beauty of their fl wings and iridescent blue bodies captivated us.
Opeongo Lake's waves were too big for us to tackle, so we made camp there and waited for the morning to leave the Park.

Although Opeongo was a tad rough and windy, it only took us 4 hours to get the first portage on the north arm of Opeongo.
On the Crow river we spotted a moose and her calf feeding, although all we could see were the heads sticking out of the water.

The Bonnechere River Watershed Project is an incorporated, not-for-profit organization that is managed by a 10 member volunteer Board of Directors.

River part is great and a few of the small portages can be beat by walking the canoe upriver (mostly small rapids).
Oxtongue River is nice flatwater canoe route along the highway 60, suprisingly not frequented.
Crow river is nice but there is only one campsite on the river so plan accordingly.
