	Rocket experiments in the area of Cuxhaven - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		In 1945, Kurt Debus was ordered to install a launch pad for testing A4-rockets in the area of Cuxhaven, as a replacement for Stand VII in Peenemünde; however, the project could not be completed due to the military situation towards the end of the war.
		One launch pad and two concrete shelters were built for "Operation Backfire", near the road between Arensch and Sahlenburg, where some remnants still exist today.
		In contrast to "Operation Backfire", there was no firm launch pad, however the control post was installed in a former World War II German Navy shelter.

		On 10-25-01 Campus Security was given an update from the Lewiston Police Department regarding the incident of a firecracker being thrown at a staff member on Campus Avenue.
		It was discovered that a firecracker was not thrown, but the vehicle was rigged in such a way that it would backfire while in operation.
		The backfire caused flames to shoot out from the exhaust, and produce a loud sound similar to a firecracker.
