		We steamed the North Arabian Sea, Persian Gulf and Straits of Hormuz for over 4 months in support of "Operation Nimble Archer" and tanker escort operations..
		After this I was transferred to Corry Station in Pensacola Florida for Electronic Warfare Operator School.
		After we did our time on station we headed of for lovely Diego Garcia where Wayne Newton taught us to sing for the ladies.

		He commanded LEFTWICH, CHOSIN, and Cruiser Destroyer Group FIVE.
		Born in Jacksonville, Florida, he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1970 and immediately began a career at sea as a Surface Warfare Officer.
