Notwithstanding the Rapido incident and subsequent operations, a secure Mediterranean, excellent bases from which to wage the air war against the Germans, the engagement of at least twenty-three German divisions, and Italy's change in status to an Allied cobelligerent shortened the war and contributed significantly to the defeat of Germany.

 WashingtonPost.com: 'Condor': It's a Kick
Hong Kong's wee-man Jackie Chan delivers the usual combination of kung pow (hold the chicken) and moo goo guy panache in "Operation Condor," a laughably dubbed, awkwardly plotted variation on "Raiders of the Lost Ark." The yarn combines acrobatics and martial artistry with slapstick derring-do.
"Operation Condor," a sequel to 1986's "Armour of God," has been shortened 13 minutes from its Asian version, aurally enhanced and, of course, dubbed into English in hopes of attracting fans of Chan's American movies, "Supercop" and "Rumble in the Bronx." The movie was previously released with English subtitles, but audiences stayed away.
Operation Condor is rated PG-13 for violence and brief nudity.

Sight Gags and Satire in the Soviet Thaw: Operation Y and Other Shurik's Adventures
The use of slapstick lends the whole exercise more perspicuity: the simplicity of the diegetic plot line weakens the competitive diegetic situation model in comparison with the alternative, “allegorical” meaning to the point that the latter becomes more plausible and relevant.
It is with these insights in mind that we turn to Gaidai's earlier film Operation Y and Other Shurik's Adventures, a seemingly innocuous slapstick omnibus comprising three episodes, which describe the life of the Soviet student Shurik in the mid-'60s.
Operation Y and Other Shurik's Adventures constructs an alternative “situation” model for Soviet viewers, which strongly engages their working models of reality in the interpretation of the narrative.

Italy had become an Allied cobelligerent, plans were being developed to invade France both across the English Channel and from the Mediterranean, and the Allied effort in Italy had become a land campaign of minor strategic importance in a secondary theater of operations.
