 CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Greece
The real danger to the ideal of Greater Greece covering all the Balkans was not, is not now, the Turk, who remains always only an unpleasant incident in the history of these lands; it is the presence of other Christian races, Slavs, who dispute the Greek ideal with their languages and national feeling.
As soon as the affairs of free Greece began to be settled, one of the first acts of the national party was to throw off the jurisdiction of the Phanar.
Greece may be a long way behind France or England, in the same class of country; she is simply part of another world compared with Turkey.

THE OPUS DEI, OR "WORK OF GOD"
The Opus Dei is supposed to be the "source of spirituality and nourishment for personal prayer," according to Vatican II's Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy (SC 90).
The document goes on to say that the Opus Dei is "an excellent preparation for the celebration of the Eucharist itself, for it inspires and deepens in a fitting way the dispositions necessary for the fruitful celebration of the Eucharist: faith, hope, love, devotion, and the spirit of self-denial" (Ibid).
The Opus Dei is part of the larger 'Liturgy' of the Catholic Church, which of course includes the Eucharist and the other sacraments of the Church as well as the sacramentals (the Way of the Cross, the Rosary, etc.), all of them comprising what is called the Catholic Church's Liturgical Year.

 opus sectile mosaic
Opus sectile is a technique where, instead of having lots of individual tesserae, shapes in a picture are made from larger, specially cut pieces, usually of tile or stone.
In the Victorian period the term began to be used for a different style of mosaic treatment, as in the example below from Chapel of St Gregory and St Augustine at Westminster Cathedral.
In these examples a heart shaped from a single tile contrasts with the fragmented background, while the smile on the right is all the more bold for being formed of a single piece of ceramic.

Hellenistic Astrology [Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy]
Babylonian priests/astrologers, notably Berossus, who settled on the island of Cos, are thought to be responsible for introducing astrology to Greece and the surrounding area.
One scholar of the history of astronomy (P. Schnabel, Berossus und die babylonisch-hellenistische Literatur, Leipzig 1923) argued that Kidinnu possessed a theory of 'precession of the equinox' prior to Hipparchus.
We see in Xenocrates both the identification of Gods with stars (as we saw in Phillip of Opus) and the notion that Gods are forces of Nature, thereby creating an important theoretical issue for astrology, namely what is the domain of influence of the planetary gods, as the Olympians are identified with the planets.

 Ancient coins of Locri
After the battle of Chaeroneia, B.C. 338, it is probable that Opus, like Thebes, fell under the displeasure of Philip, and that, as in Boeotia the right of issuing silver was transferred from Thebes to the Boeotians, so also in Locris it was transferred from Opus to the Locrians collectively.
B.C. 300 there is no reason to suppose that any coins were struck in Locris; but when Flamininus (B.C. 197) restored freedom to all the cities of Greece, Opus began once more to strike bronze coins with the old types, but reading ΟΠΟΥΝΤΙΩΝ in place of ΟΠΟΝΤΙΩΝ.
Under the empire Opus again enjoyed the right of coinage, but for a short period only, during the reigns of Galba and Otho, sometimes with magistrate’s name, ЄΠΙ ΚΛΑΥ[ΔΙΟΥ] CЄΡΑΠΙΩΝΟC. On some of these coins of Imperial times are the heads of Hades and Persephone, and on the reverses a warrior (perhaps Opous) standing.
