Orange is also the location of the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries head office, and a campus of Charles Sturt University (formerly part of University of Sydney).

Having been brought up in the country, I’m finding much to love about Orange: the vivid colours of Spring and Autumn; the sights and sounds of the colourful birds, grazing cattle and sheep, the gently sloping landscapes and most importantly the people.
Our daughter Melanie and Remo and their two young children formerly lived in an apartment in New York and now are back in Sydney, living by the sea at Tamarama.

Following deaths in sheep in 1926, after restricted access to this plant at Wagga Wagga and Gundagai, New South Wales, Carne in the same year carried out a pen feeding trial with the bark of the plant.
During a recent investigation into an unusual nervous disorder in goats at Bathurst, New South Wales (unpublished), tree-of-heaven ingestion was considered as a possible cause, and feeding trials using young leafy stems, bark and bark extracts were undertaken.
The stage of growth and the condition of the plant used experimentally was the same as that associated with the field problem.
