They are currently holding a conference to look at how section 235 of the Constitution can be used as the basis to push forward their claims for independence.

The Independent Communications Authority of SA (Icasa) said yesterday that Radio Club 100, which broadcasts exclusively for Orania, was shut down after the regulator found it was not licensed to operate.

According to Lombard the idea for the currency was first mooted by Professor Johan van Zyl during a conference by the Orania Movement in 2002.
