The scenario is set around the town of Oreye in Belgium.
The Waremme and St Truiden maps are the ones we need and they immediately prove the old adage as Oreye sits neatly on the join between the two maps.
In this case the ground is as flat as we know Belgium is but there is some dominant elevation in the area near Oreye (probably why the Germans paused there).

If anyone who lives in Belgium (or nearby) wants to see them: you take E40 direction Liege, take exit 29 and follow direction Oreye.
When almost in Oreye there will be a big rundabout.
Turn left at the roundabout and you will see on your right a gass station and a snack.
