 DUNCAN v. KAHANAMOKU, 327 U.S. 304 (1946)
The military undoubtedly assumed that its rule was not subject to any judicial control whatever, for by orders issued on August 25, 1943, it prohibited even accepting of a petition for writ of habeas corpus by a judge or judicial employee or the filing of such a petition by a prisoner or his attorney.
Hence if a military commander, on the basis of his conception of military necessity, requires all civilians accused of crime to be tried summarily before martial law tribunals, the Bill of Rights must bow humbly to his judgment despite the unquestioned ability of the civil courts to exercise their criminal jurisdiction.
The final reason advanced relates to the testimony of military leaders that Hawaii is said to have a 'heterogeneous population with all sorts of affinities and loyalties which are alien in many cases to the philosophy of life of the American Government,' one-third of the civilian population being of Japanese descent.

Military BX and BR are designations defining the maximum change in capacitance with respect to temperature and applied DC voltage.
All military and commercial ceramic capacitors exhibit dielectric absorption, which is manifested as a spontaneous recovery of low levels of DC after previous charging and discharging.
Ceramic: All military BX and BR dielectrics (similar to commercial X7R) exhibit aging, which is a linear decline in capacitance with the log of time.

Under the provision of the Hawaiian Organic Act that the Federal Constitution shall have the same force and effect in the Territory as elsewhere in the United States, civilians in Hawaii are entitled to the constitutional guaranty of a fair trial to the same extent as those who live in the continental United States.
After the passing of the Organic Act disturbances in the coal fields of West Virginia, a longshoremen's strike in Galveston and a packers' strike in Nebraska City, all led to criminal trials of civilians by military tribunals which were upheld by decisions of state and lower federal courts.
It is said that the military "cannot brook a delay" and that "the punishment must be swift; there is an element of time in it, and we cannot afford to let the trial linger [*331] and be protracted." This military attitude toward constitutional processes is not novel.

 NAP Skim View of:
INTRODUCTION The Panel on Functional and Organic Hybrid Materials believes that organic materials of low or high molar mass are destined to play a vastly increased role throughout the entire spectrum of military applications for the foreseeable future.
Organic molecules that can be electronically switched on or off for extended periods might be used as the basic components of memory and logic devices.
Organic materials, either as low-molar-mass compounds on a flexible support or as polymers, are attractive because typically they offer the prospects of facile, large-area fabrication, mechanical flexibility, much lower cost, and fine-tuning of optical properties to match the absorption characteristics of the solar spectrum.

The panel predicts that organic materials of high and low molar mass will continue to increase their penetration of military materials applications for the foreseeable future because of the clear advantages they have in terms of functional flexibility, low weight, and facile processibility—all leading to economic gain over the life cycle.
Organic materials, either as low-molar-mass compounds on a flexible support or as polymers, are attractive due to the typical prospects of facile large-area fabrication, mechanical flexibility, potential very low cost, and the ability to tune optical properties to match the absorption characteristics of the solar spectrum.

Generally speaking, 'organically' grown crops can be marketed as 'organic' and technically be 'organic' and be _less healthy_ to eat than ones that were grown with conventional non-organic pesticides.
Organic produce wastes water and land and can legally be conducted in a fashion that's probably as polluting as normal production because all 'organic' means is basically 'derived from a natural product'.
Many 'organic pesticides' were discontinued precisely because they were more toxic than non-organic pesticides, and please please don't tell me that you are one of the poor sobs that eats 'organic' produce unwashed because you figure 'hey, it's organic'.

Air & Space Power Journal: Organic versus joint organization - Vortices - military organizational reform
The three surface services organize "organically"; that is, each sets up a large organization consisting only of its own forces--witness the Marine Corps's Air-Ground Task Force; the Navy's carrier battle group; and the Army's deployment by corps, division, or brigade.
But when bits of one service are merely added to another service's organic model, the result is not some new form of synergy but, more usually, an increase in efficiency.
Since organic operations fall under Title X service prerogatives, the other services don't have a say on how and why we employ.

Although the organic industry is quick to tell you that these 'naturally derived pesticides' are safer than synthetic ones, the truth of the matter is that they were largely abandoned prior to the organic label becoming popular precisely because they are so toxic.
And I always think it is funny that 'organic' nuts always talk about low pesticide usage crops like leechee and kiwi's whenever they talk about the success of organic farming.
The truth of the matter is that leechee's or kiwi's have never required intensive pesticide usage because the yield damage on those crops is not usually sufficient to justify it.

 CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Miracle
On belief in the uniformity of nature is based the profound conviction of the organic unity of the universe, a characteristic trait of nineteenth-century thought.
The fundamental idea of Hegel's metaphysic (viz., that existing things are the progressive manifestation of the idea, i.e., the absolute) gave a philosophical basis for the organic conception of the universe, i.e., the Divine as organic to the human.
Its basis is the organic idea of the universe, but it views the world process apart from God, because reason cannot prove the existence of God, and therefore, to the Agnostic, He does not exist (e.g., Huxley); or to the Christian Agnostic, His existence is accepted on Faith (s.g., Baden-Powell).

Perchlorate - Senator Feinstein - Rocket Fuel Pollution - NAS - EPA
Perchlorates, which are a common pollutant near military sites, have recently been found in the water at concerning levels in 35 states as well as in 93% of lettuce and milk.
This is bad news for military sites and rocket fuel plants around the country, including Henderson, Nevada, where EPA well monitoring has found perchlorates at a level 30,000 times higher than that.
It is our feeling, as well, that the military complex pressured the NAS into watering down its report, but neither we, nor any other environmental group out there, have any verifiable evidence of this (yet).
