 Statement on the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Summit Declaration
On December 7 and 8, leaders of Muslim nations belonging to the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) met in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The United States also praises the OIC for the support it extends to Iraq as it completes its transitional political process and elects a full term government under its new democratic constitution.
We appreciate the endorsement of OIC members of the Arab League initiative to promote national dialogue in Iraq and welcome the OIC's unreserved condemnation of terrorist violence directed against the Iraqi people.

  Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities
The OICC was established as an organization affiliated to the Organization of the Islamic Conference by the virtue of the Resolution No. (9/9-P) issued by the 9th Session of the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers held in Dakar, Republic of Senegal on 17/5/1398 H (24/4/1978).
The 10th Session of the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers, held in Fez, Kingdom of Morocco on 10/6/1399 H (8/3/1979) endorsed the draft of the Organization’s constitution by the virtue of the Resolution No. (25/10-P).
Hence the Organization’s name was amended to the current name “Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities” by the virtue of the resolution No. (5/2 G) issued by the Organization 2nd General Conference held in Islamabad during the period from 14 to 16 Jumada Al-Thani 1402 H (8-10 April 1982).

The Conference appointed its Secretary General and chose Jeddah as the Headquarters of the Organization, pending the liberation of Jerusalem, which would be the permanent Headquarters.
Pakistan with its legacy rooted in the Islamic faith and its consistent support for Muslim causes, as well as in response to the overwhelming public support for the cause of liberation of Al-Quds Al-Sharif, was a founding member of the OIC in 1969.
Pakistan also hosted the Second Conference of the OIC Foreign Ministers (ICFM) held in Karachi from 26th to 28 December 1970, Eleventh ICFM in Islamabad from 17th to 22nd May 1980 and the Twenty-first ICFM held in Karachi on 25th to 29th April 1993.

The Organization may, under a General Conference resolution and upon a proposal from the Executive Council of the Islamic Organization (ISESCO), establish in any other country, centres, offices or institutions which are subsidiary to it or are under its supervision.

 10 Islamic Summit Conference
The Conference also decided to utilize all economic capacities and natural resources of Islamic States to undermine the Israeli economy, to block the flow of financial, economic and political support to Israel, to seek to change international political positions in favor of the Palestinian people, and to support the Palestine Liberation Organization.
The Conference decided to commit itself fully to the principle of non-interference whether directly or indirectly in the internal affairs of other states; to refrain from provoking sedition and sowing the seeds of dissention, which are inconsistent with the Islamic principles upon which the Organization of the Islamic Conference is founded.
G. The Conference decided to endorse the content of the resolution adopted in this respect by the Eleventh Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers and invited all member states to extend their cooperation in the Organization of the tournament at regular intervals.

Member of Knesset and leader of the Islamic Movement in Israel, Ibrahim Sarsour, has warned that Israel is still digging and carrying out excavations under Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, in a way that threatens the foundation of the mosque.
Israeli archeologists, who argued that the digging was aimed at clearing out an old garbage-filled tunnel to determine whether it posed a safety hazard, said that the excavations are horizontal and vertical, and that they advanced to within 60 meters of the mosque.
