If educational institutions are using student ratings to decide on tenure and other issues of importance, a scholarly evaluation of student ratings is important.
At the same time, the U of C has instituted a “Lifetime Transcript Fee” for current and returning students, meaning that as of autumn 2005 these students can receive an unlimited number of transcripts for a one-time fee of $25–$35.
