  Oriental Shorthair Cat Breed Information
Oriental Shorthairs can be found in solid colors (white, red, cream, ebony, blue, chestnut, lavender, cinnamon, or fawn), smoke (silver undercoat to any of the above except white), shaded (only the hair tips colored), parti-color (red or cream splashes on any of the above), tabby (striped) and bi-colored.
Oriental Shorthairs have expressive, almond-shaped eyes, a wedge-shaped head with large ears that fit in the wedge of the head.
The Oriental Shorthair breed was created by crossing a Siamese to an American Shorthair.

COAT COLOR: the Oriental's reason for being is the coat color whether it is solid, shaded, smoke, parti-color, bi-color or tabby patterned.
The shaded Oriental has a white undercoat, with a mantel of colored tipping shading down from the sides, face and tail from dark on the ridge to white on the chin, chest underside and under the tail.
Thus, the non-white parts of the cat vary from the intense expression of color on the points to a paler manifestation of that color on the body (darkening with age is allowed, and may be more pronounced than in non bi-color pointed cats).
