		I chose to do my project on symmetry in oriental carpets because I recognize that they are a form of art, and I have always thought that their patterns are beautiful and complex.
		Although it is possible to understand the wallpaper groups, or symmetry groups, without the knowledge of graphical transformations, it is very interesting to follow the graphical implications of patterns in oriental carpets and to see the relationship between graphical transformation and rug patterns.
